Hi Bianca,

That's great!
I'm from the island, so I'll try to recommend good places to check out when you're there.
Most of the time English is spoken but some times you may hear Dutch or French. Dutch is only spoken between Mano and Gladys, and French is spoken by Sibylle and her mom. Because the environment is sort of relaxed, the language is mostly informal; you won't have to address anyone in the office as "Miss" or "Mister", every one uses each other's first name.
The dress code is business casual and some times informal. You are not obliged to wear heels or a blazer, unless you choose to of course.

As for the places to check out, I recommend (beaches) Mullet Bay, Pinel Island, Orient Bay, and the beach next to airport; that's where people go to see the planes take off and land. (Restaurants/bars) For great drinks, I suggest going to the lounge above Soggy Dollar, for drinks and karaoke, go to Toppers. For a delicious meal, I suggest The Stone, Bamboo Bernies/Little Bamboo, Bajatzu, Avantika, Sandy's (it's next to the ferry office on the French Side + great prices), Top Carrot (healthy and savory), Mario's Bistrot, and The Yacht Club to watch the yachts come into the lagoon. As for clubs, Soggy Dollar and Tantra are the most popular ones.

As for activities, apart from the beaches, you can also go Ziplining, Go Karting, to the cinema (although I would suggest not getting anything other than popcorn, candy and a drink), boat excursions (Captain Alan's Boat Charters, Sunset Cruise). Hiking is another activity you can do. For Zipling and Go Karting, it would be much more fun and cheaper if you go with a group.

If you're interested in working out, you can go to I&I Fitness which is a short distance from the office, or you can go to Marci's Mega Gym however you would have to pay more there but it has more room than I&I Fitness.

Lastly, this is honestly the greatest time to be on the island because there will be the Heineken Regatta in March, the carnival season will be for the entirety of April (shows and parades), and in the summer there will also be more events. You can easily take a ferry to Anguilla, St. Barth, or Saba, however it is quite costly on St. Barth. You can go for an afternoon or a weekend.

This is all I can think of right now, but if you need any more information, ask away!

Yours respectfully,

Moesje Berry
